Radiology

Our radiology department is equiped to take radiographs of any size patient our hospital regularly would see, from tiny Chihuahuas to large Mastiffs.  We routinely perform thoracic, abdominal and skeletal studies.  We are able to do contrast studies, such as abdominal barium series as well as the required radiographs of hips and elbows for OFA certification.

Many radiographs are able to be taken with simple restraint, but occasionally, to obtain the best radiographs, especially if the patient is in pain or scared, mild sedation will be necessary.  Therefore, you may be asked to leave your pet with us for a few hours, or to even schedule the radiographs for another day, in order for our staff to be able to devote the optimal time and attention to perform this service.
